Why has my payment been declined?Updated 16 days ago
Trouble at the Checkout? There is nothing worse than getting to the finish line and hitting a hurdle. If your payment isn't going through, don't worry—it’s usually a quick fix. Please check the following steps:
1. The Basics (Check the Digits) It happens to the best of us!
Card Number: Double-check that the long number has been entered exactly as it appears on the front of your card.
Expiry Date: Ensure the date hasn't passed and is entered in the correct format (MM/YY).
2. The Security Code (CVV)
Make sure the 3-digit security code (found on the back of your card) is entered correctly. This is the most common reason for a decline!
3. The "Bank Block" (Contact Issuer) Sometimes, your bank protects you a little too well.
The Issue: Your card issuer may flag the transaction as "unusual" and block it for security reasons.
The Fix: Because banks don't tell us the specific reason for a decline, the fastest solution is to give your bank a quick call to authorize the payment.
4. Try a Different Card If you have another card handy, try using that to see if the issue is isolated to just one account.
5. Still Stuck? Let us help you manually. If technology just isn't cooperating, we are happy to do it the old-fashioned way.
