What happens if I am not at home to receive the delivery?Updated 18 days ago

Scenario 1: The "Safe Drop" If you aren't home, Australia Post will first look for the specific instructions you set in their app. If you haven't set any, the driver will try to leave your fuel in a safe place, hidden from the street and weather.

Can’t find it? Check the usual hiding spots:

  • Behind pot plants or garden beds

  • Inside or behind bins

  • In the shed, garage, or porch area

Scenario 2: Taken to the Post Office If there is no safe place to leave it, the driver will take it to a nearby Post Office.

  • The Digital Notification: If your parcel is matched to your MyPost account, you will receive a notification (and often a photo confirmation of the attempted delivery) directly in the AusPost App.

  • The Card: If not, they will leave a physical card in your letterbox telling you which Post Office to visit.

The "10-Day Rule" (Don't miss out!) Please note, Australia Post will only hold your parcel for 10 Business Days. After this, it is automatically returned to us. We’d hate for you to wait longer for your gains, so please try to collect it promptly!

Can someone else pick it up for me? Stuck at work? No problem. You can nominate a friend or family member to collect it.

The Easy Way (via the App) If you have the AusPost app, you can choose the ‘Let someone collect this parcel’ option.

  1. Select the parcel in the app.

  2. Create a "Collection Authorisation" image.

  3. Text/Share this image with your friend.

  4. They show this image + their ID at the Post Office. Simple.

If you still need help navigating all this, please let our team know and we would love to assist.
