Is your Gut Health low FODMAP?Updated 8 days ago

True Gut Health is scientifically formulated to support a healthy microbiome; however, it is not strictly low FODMAP by definition.

To provide total transparency, each serving contains:

  • 1.85g of Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS)

  • 0.2g of Inulin

Both of these ingredients are classified as FODMAPs (fermentable carbohydrates). While these levels provide powerful prebiotic support, they may exceed the strict thresholds set for the initial phase of a low FODMAP diet.

Why We Use Milk-Derived GOS Not all GOS is created equal. We specifically source our GOS from milk, rather than legumes.

  • The Difference: Clinical observations suggest that milk-derived GOS is generally better tolerated by the digestive system than GOS sourced from beans or pulses.

  • The Benefit: This allows you to receive the prebiotic benefits—feeding your beneficial gut bacteria—with a significantly lower risk of the bloating or discomfort often associated with plant-based alternatives.

Determining Suitability for Your Journey Gut sensitivity is highly individual, and suitability often depends on where you are in your management plan:

  • The Elimination Phase: If you are currently in the strict elimination phase of the low FODMAP diet, the levels in this product may be too high for your current needs.

  • The Maintenance Phase: Many individuals find they can tolerate these levels well once they have moved past the initial elimination stage and re-introduced specific food groups.

Our Recommendation If you have a sensitive stomach but wish to try the product, we recommend "starting low and going slow" (e.g., half a serving) to test your personal tolerance.
