How do I know True Protein labels are accurate?Updated 4 hours ago

At True Protein, we are committed to the highest levels of quality, transparency, and regulatory compliance. Our labels are a verified promise of the quality contained within every bag.

Commitment to Quality and Compliance

Regulatory Standards
True Protein is legally required to comply with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, developed by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ). These standards are rigorously enforced by the Australian states and territories and, in New Zealand, by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI).

To legally sell our products, it is our responsibility to adhere to this Code, which dictates:

  • General labelling and information requirements.

  • Food composition and product claims.

  • Nutrition panels and allergen declarations.

  • Advisory statements and directions for use/storage.

  • Country of origin labelling in strict compliance with Australian Consumer Law.

Safe Procurement Practices

To ensure full compliance and prioritise safety, our supply chain team rigorously assesses all suppliers prior to purchasing any products. We work closely with these approved ingredient suppliers to obtain highly accurate product details. We require comprehensive individual ingredient specifications that outline essential data, including:

  • Food safety standards.

  • Microbiological testing results.

  • The suppliers' own HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) production protocols.

Labelling Accuracy

Our Product Innovation team meticulously writes our packaging labels using the detailed specifications provided by our procurement process. By thoroughly reviewing supplier documentation regarding nutritional analysis and ingredient composition, our team ensures that all product labels are accurate, transparent, and built entirely upon verified information.

Manufacturing and Food Safety

Our manufacturing facility operates under an official NSW Food License. Our comprehensive food safety plan is developed and maintained in strict accordance with HACCP and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) principles. Furthermore, our facility is regularly audited by the NSW Food Authority to guarantee ongoing food safety and regulatory compliance.

Allergen Management

True Protein maintains a robust allergen management system. Although the risk of cross-contact during production is low, we have made the business decision to include potential allergens on our packaging as a precautionary statement. This transparent approach aligns with common industry best practices and ensures we prioritise consumer safety above all else.
